Ron Hitchens -- Editor In Chief

Ron Hitchens is a hopeless computer geek and writer whose career dates back to the disco era. His first computer was a punched card mainframe the size of a locomotive. His latest is a 15" G4 Mac PowerBook. Not just a good idea, it's Moore's Law.
Ron spent much of the 1980s at the University of Texas at Austin, as student and staffer, where he burrowed deep into the Unix kernel and assisted with many interesting research projects. Ron spent the next several years doing kernel work for clients such as IBM, Motorola and Unisys.
Following a brief flirtation with C++, Ron fell in love with Java and has spent the last several years doing Java development for companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
Ron joined Mark Logic in April of 2004 to help develop XQuery applications. Through a series of improbable circumstances, Ron soon became Editor-In-Chief of this very Developer Support Site.
Ron is also the author of Java NIO (O'Reilly) and writes on a regular basis for java.net and oreillynet.com.
