I just need to remark (probably not helpfully) that the question of "is
there a list of other undocumented functions available?" is a wonderful
contradiction in terms.
 
I think filesystem-directory gives you enough information to see if a
directory is there.  Creating a directory, not to my knowledge.

I have another question about file system interaction:

I know of xdmp:filesystem-directory, and the fact that it's undocumented
and unsupported, but I was wondering if there's a list of other related
filesystem functions available but undocumented.  I particularly would
be interested if there's a way of detecting the existence of a local
directory and/or creating a local directory.  Thanks.
