[MarkLogic Dev General] Database/Forest size

We're clearing out some of our data from a database and removing a large
amount of documents; however, I don't see that the database/forest size is
decreasing.  Can someone explain this and how the size ultimately
recalculates, if it's by forced merging/re-indexing or other methods?
