Charlie,

    The jEdit snag is because of a declared dependency
on the XML Indenter in the jEdit configuration.  The
plugin doesn't actually require it to run.  If you
want to use jEdit I can repackage and send the plugin
to you.

    I started to fix it on the developer site while
updating the plugin to use XCC, but XQRunner requires
some additional updates for the jEdit plugin to work
properly.  I haven't been able to get that completed yet.

    As Kelly pointed out, IntelliJ works pretty well
for editing XQuery.  You don't get all the cool
refactoring actions, and you can't submit queries
directly from the editor (yet) but it's still a nice
editing environment.
