Hi Jakob. Not sure if anyone else responded, but here is some code from Michael Blakeley to get you started:

http://marklogic.markmail.org/search/?q=XMP#query:XMP%20from%3A%22Michael%20Blakeley%22+page:1+mid:dg7nu6sfjchpocm4+state:results

We routinely read/extract XMP metadata from binary files with great results, although we aren't currently updating it. That could be a little more tricky.

Subject: [MarkLogic Dev General] extract xmp from PDFs?

Hi, just out of curiosity:

Does MarkLogic provide an easy way to extract XMP metadata from PDF
files that are stored in MarkLogic?
Does it even make sense to do this?
If not what other ways have people found to read (and possibly
update!) XMP metadata in PDFs?

thanks,
Jakob.
