[MarkLogic Dev General] Document properties and managed documents

Hi,

I'm using the library services API to manage documents and save prior versions.  I am also using custom document properties to store various custom properties.  However, I am having a problem in that using the dls:document-update() function only retains the custom properties on the head document; even setting the $retain-history to fn:true() only saves the ML properties on the previous version, not the custom properties.

Is this a bug?  In the meantime, how can I get the update to retain ALL of the document properties on the previous versions of documents?
