Try xdmp:server-status:

http://docs.marklogic.com/5.0doc/docapp.xqy#display.xqy?fname=http://pubs/5.0doc/apidoc/AdminBuiltins.xml&category=Server+Monitoring&function=xdmp:server-status

The queue-size I think gives you the number of tasks in the queue.

You can also get this same information from the Management REST API:

http://docs.marklogic.com/5.0doc/docapp.xqy#display.xqy?fname=http://pubs/5.0doc/apidoc/management.xml&function=manage:/manage/v1/servers/{id|name}/status?group-id={id|name}

Subject: [MarkLogic Dev General] Function to check task server queue?

I was told that everything you can see in the ML admin tool is available via the API. What I would like to do is query to find out the number of tasks in the task server queue. Can anyone tell me how this would look, or point me to documentation related to this? Thanks in advance.
